What if you paused and noticed your inner experience, right now?
In our mindfulness practice, this might look like taking a moment to sense the body. Noticing sensations such as the quality of breath: deep or shallow, ragged or smooth. Or scanning through the body, gathering attention at the brow, the jaw, the shoulders, the belly, the arms and legs, the tips of the toes. Noticing light and heavy, warm and cool, pulsing and stillness. Through this inner sensing, we can gain insight into our current state.
A simple pause can be a powerful practice. When I recognize and kindly accept what's here in my experience, that experience tends to shift. The sensation of tightness loosens. What's loose becomes wider, more expansive. There's more space between my thoughts, and a softening of emotions - perhaps compassion or forgiveness. In that space, I can see more clearly what's needed right now. Perhaps what's needed is this simple pause. Or perhaps it's a deeper reflection on where I am, and what would support me.
Amidst the changes in the seasons, the wider world - and the shifting conditions of our lives - it's so important to check in with ourselves. On Sunday, we'll have the opportunity to pause, tune in, and reflect on what might support us in our lives and creative practice. I'd also love to hear from you! If there's anything I could offer to support you and your practice right now, please reach out and let me know.
I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
Hannah
