Community Connection

Writer: Hannah MarshHannah Marsh

If you're an artist or a meditator, you might spend a lot of time alone - whether honing your craft, developing a project, or sustaining and deepening your practice. In my experience, this time can be vital and nourishing. Sometimes, however, it can be lonely and disheartening. Trying to soldier on, alone, is a struggle upstream. Over and again, I learn the lesson that I need other people. I need a sangha, community.

Community can help in many ways. When I feel stuck, hearing others' perspectives may open up possibility. When I lose faith, in my writing or mindfulness practice, sharing time with other writers or meditators can rekindle the flame. I reconnect with what's important.

I remember: You're not alone.

My intention with our classes is to cultivate community. I want these sessions to be a support for all of us.

For Sunday's Mindfulness & Creativity session, I invite you to consider anything you'd like to bring to our community. How can we support you, right now, in your mindfulness or creativity practice?

Are there questions you've been meaning to ask?

Discoveries you'd like to share?

On Sunday, we'll continue our community mindfulness practice. We'll also reflect on what we'd like to share - perhaps a question, an insight, or a kind listening presence - bringing the care of our attention to ourselves and each other.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday!

Hannah
